Therapy for Young Adults

Why Therapy

You are in your 20’s or 30’s and this is supposed to be the best time of your life, right? Then why does it feel like you can’t catch a break. You’ve been thinking, is this really what the rest of my life will be like? You have been going through some hard things and you recognize that the way you are acting and feeling is connected to the situations you have experienced in your life. You are also still figuring out life as an adult, whether that involves college, starting your career, dating or watching your friendships change.

Even when you are with the people you love you feel disconnected and not fully present.  Everything happening in your life and in the world feels overwhelming and you struggle to find hope for things to be different. All of your worries, fears, and stress are living in your body. You may experience headaches and stomach aches. You struggle to get good sleep as your mind is constantly going. Maybe your best efforts to keep it all together has impacted you at work and school as you struggle to focus, concentrate, and feel motivated to get done what you know you need to.

You have spent time so much time trying to feel better. Maybe some of the things you have tried have worked for a short period of time but you continue to feel anxious and depressed and feel more hopeless and frustrated that nothing is working. You know you are ready to get some support and feel not alone, but you may be nervous about what therapy will look like or how it could help you. Keep reading to learn more about what therapy is like.
